Having been a qualified nurse for 15 years, and working in many areas of nursing I decided to put my bizarre love of CPR, resuscitation, wound care and general first aid to good use, and start teaching/training others. So this year in May 2015 ‘Let’s Get Plastered’ was born.
With further training, and a teaching and education qualification I am now a fully qualified STA approved First Aid at Work tutor. I am still a fully registered nurse and continue to work in the general practice setting which keeps my own practical skills up to date, alongside my continual training and professional development with STA as a tutor.
Why Let’s Get Plastered? Well it appealed to my warped sense of humour, and ultimately for me describes what first aid is about, holding something together as best you can until the professionals come to take over the situation.
Working under the umbrella of the Swimming Teachers Association (STA) allows Lets Get Plastered to provide our clients with that little bit extra than your run of the mill First Aid Courses. Safety Training Awards, which is the awarding body of the STA, is the only UK government accredited organisation that has Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator) and SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) approval.
Let’s Get Plastered makes First Aid at Work training fun, flexible and approachable, yet giving you the basic skills you require for your individual work setting. I am happy to come out to your business and train groups of employees, or arrange to get individuals trained within an organised course. Hours of training can usually be worked round your schedule. We are based in Inverness, Highlands and cover local and all surrounding areas in Scotland.
So if you need First Aid Training, whatever the reason, get in touch, and ‘Let’s Get Plastered’ together.
